Welcome!

Happy New Year and welcome to the Brain Injury Safety Net Listserv! Whether you are a returning member or a new one, we want to warmly welcome you to this email list for professionals interested in making a difference regarding concussion awareness and concussion management.

What is the Safety Net Listserv?

The Safety Net Listserv is a platform for professionals interested and invested in brain health, concussion awareness, and concussion management to share resources as well as presentation, conference, and training opportunities.

This listserv is similar to a newsletter, offered as a free benefit to our colleagues and fellow professionals with a shared interest in brain health. It is a moderated email correspondence focused solely on concussion and brain injury awareness where resources, landmark research, referrals, and opportunities for presentations, collaborations, etc. are shared.

What are the benefits of the Safety Net Listserv?

The Safety Net Listserv is a collaborative and user-friendly way to share important and interesting information related to brain injury awareness.

You, along with fellow members, can look forward to:

  • Becoming part of the conversation, not just the audience. You can interact as much or as little as you prefer.

  • Feeling empowered and encouraged to share helpful resources, and publish relevant events and opportunities your colleagues can utilize.

  • Receiving updated email correspondence from just one BISN email, instead of several emails and updates from multiple services, newsletters, or users commenting in real-time.

  • Avoiding additional platform sign-ups or profile creation, since the whole discussion happens in a single, simple format available to anyone with an email address.

  • Receiving only information that is relevant, timely, and vetted by BISN; you can be confident that the content you receive meets the standard set forward by the Safety Net Listserv coordinators and Task Force.

  • Contact name and phone number for Listserv members to follow up on the opportunity

  • A brief 1-2 paragraphs on how this resource/event/opportunity/etc. relates to concussion awareness, concussion management, and/or brain health

How does a Listserv benefit you and the Safety Net Community? What is the benefit of a statewide concussion resource?

A listserv is a simplified way to maintain a group discussion and a central platform for communication, without the necessity of signing up for a discussion form or social network.

The Safety Net Listserv provides an opportunity:

  • to share information.

  • to determine common gaps in research and data.

  • to request and distribute valuable resources.

  • to make professional connections with other concussion management experts.

  • to establish a resource for communities who lack or are unaware of resources in their area.

Listserv vs Newsletter_BISN.png

The Safety Net Listserv is:

  • FAIR -- available to everyone who has an email address and a way to send and receive emails.

  • FREE -- to join and be involved. There are no associated costs, fees, or sales marketing..

  • FOCUSED -- on user benefit, not financial gain or advertising. The Safety Net Listserv maintains a level of professional quality and frequency; you can feel confident you receive only vetted content in the fewest amount of emails. Safety Net has a no-spam policy.

  • FORMALIZED -- in distributing content only after it has been reviewed and formalized by Safety Net Listserv administrators. In addition to these professional parameters, email addresses are not sold or shared.
